Molly is a 13-year-old, incredibly adorable tan and white basset. She is very friendly and calm and does very well with my 3-year-old son and 9-year-old Schipperke/Pomeranian male dog. She does walk well on a leash, but because of a touch of arthritis in her hip joints, she can only walk a short distance. Going up the stairs is tough for her. She has Cushings disease and requires medication once a week. She does not potty in the home if let out every 3-4 hours. I have been fostering Molly for ten months now, and she is a very sweet old girl who loves her long naps,being near her people, chew bones, and belly rubs. She deserves a permanent home and a loving family to live out the rest of her years.

My name is Buddy and I am approximately 1 yr old. I was restcued from a shelter by my foster mom. I was so grateful to be out of that stinky place. I love it at my foster mom's home. She has lots of playmates for me and I like them all. The older guys don't really like me but that's OK. I know how to deal with them. My foster mom says I am the happiest dog she has ever seen. I like everybody. Little children make me nervous if they come around while I'm eating. I am just not sure if they want my food or what. I will let them know that it is my food. I may do better in a home with older children. I know how to use a dog door. My foster mom also thinks I am very cuuuuute. She really loves me but she can't keep me because she has to many other furry friends like me. I would love to find a home where I would have a playmate and get lots of belly rubs. So if you have room for me let these good people that rescued me know. I'm very anxious to find a forever home. I will bring you lots of happiness and joy.

Hi, My name is Chloe. they tell I 'am 10 but I still like to go for short walks and at my age I like to take my time about it. I am house broken but need a home without stairs. I would make a great addition to a home where I would not be alone. I know you think that I am an old Lady, but I still have a lot of good years left:-) I am potty trained and spayed and up to date on my shots. For an older girl I am also in good health. I get along well with other dogs and Love to snuggle. They tell me that I was found as a stray and brought to a shelter, were the nice folks of HCBHR picked me up and brought me to a wonderful foster home. So my age is really a guess from the vet. Hi! My name is Tillie (short for Matilda) and I am looking for my forever home. I am 5 months old and a very sweet girl. I am spayed and up to date on my shots and looking for my forever home. I sleep in my crate at night and am pretty much housebroken (with some help being let out). I enjoy riding in the car and playing with my foster brother. My foster mom says I am a typical puppy and can get into things if left unsupervised for long periods. I am learning though. I love other dogs and animals although I dont know about cats but I think they will be OK. Kids are fun too!

My name is Cookie and I'm probably around 6 years old. I came into rescue from a Shelter, so my age is a guess. I am a special needs dog, since I recently experienced a back injury. That means I don't walk that well because my back legs are weak and I have a hard time going up stairs. I'm on medication for the back injury and I'm getting a lot better. When I got to my foster mommy's, I couldn't go up stairs at all. Now I can get up the half flight of stairs between the family room and the kitchen all by myself. I can also get in and out of the doggie door all by myself too! The doctor says that I need to keep on my meds for a while and work on building up strength in my back legs. I may never be back to 100%, but the vet says that I'm making a lot of progress and I should have any really significant impairment.
I am very attached to people and when people are home, I want to spend all my time close to them. I am very affectionate and love to snuggle on laps - but need to be helped up onto the couch or the chair because I can't jump.
But don't let my injury fool you. Even though I walk funny, I'm energetic and enjoy being social and playing with people. I don't get along very well with my foster mommy's female yellow lab mix, but I get along ok with the male basset, so I should probably be in a house with either a male basset or no other dogs. I basically ignore the cat most of the time, so a house with a cat would probably be alright too. I just need someone who understands that I'm getting over an injury and who is willing to give me a forever home, even though I need a little extra TLC, because I will give that love back in spades!

Hi, my name is Molly! I am approximately 10 years old and absolutely adorable. I was found on the street and rescued from a shelter, so my age is the vets best guess. I am very mellow and sweet, great with children and other dogs, and I love to cuddle! Actually, I demand to cuddle and be rubbed. I am potty trained, but sometimes I get nervous so it is better to put me out every few hours where I enjoy lazing in the sun. I like walks and am good on the leash, but I need short distances and a slow pace. I have some arthritis in my front legs, which can make stairs difficult, but I manage well. I can be needy at times, but I love to be with people. I recently had some teeth removed, but I am doing well and eating great.

Woody is one of the sweetest Basset Hounds that you will ever meet! He get along with EVERYONE. Woody loves to play with his K9 friends, or just hang out with his human friends. Woody loves to give kisses and please you, he learned the rules in our home quickly. Woody is potty trained and a very loving Hound. Woody also likes cats, he has 3 brothers and 2 sisters in his foster home and gets along great with all of them. Woody also likes laying in the sun or have his belly scratched and treats are wonderful also. Woody would love to find his forever home with another dog or maybe some children. Hi my name is Louie and I am a one year old neutered male. I am adorable, as you can see, and very lovable. I am excellent on a leash and enjoy long walks. I love to be active and play a lot. I have a ton of energy. When I calm down after play time, I love to cuddle and to be petted and loved. In fact, I really enjoy attention. My ideal forever family would be a household that loves walks, loves to cuddle and play with squeakie toys. Since I love to be center of attention, I may do better in a one dog household, that is until I get a little more grown up. My foster family is working with me on my manners and my tendency to chew on things other than my toys. I do come when I am called and I am learning more commands. I just need someone to put time into working with me, some stability and lots of love.

My name is Sadie and I am an 8 year old girl who's spayed and has had all my shots. I've even had my teeth cleaned. I was left at the shelter by my former owners, but the nice folks at Basset Rescue came and got me. I'm a sensitive girl and at first I was very sad, but then I got used to how nice everyone is at my foster home and how much they like to pet me and now I'm a happy, energetic girl who enjoys getting rubs and hanging out with the family. I get along great with the other dogs and the cats. My foster mommy says I'm one of the very sweetest dogs she's fostered. She also says my fur is very soft so it's a pleasure to pet me and rub my belly, which makes me a happy girl. I would be better in a house with other dogs or with people who are home during the day because I'm a social girl and I get lonely all by myself. I am up to date on my shots and potty trainend. I've got a really big heart and lots of love to share. I know there's someone out there who I can share all my love with!

Hi! My name is Dolores, I am a 2 year old red & white female basset/beagle mix. My foster parents say I am all basset except my bark! I am very outgoing, and have lots of energy. My favorite thing to do is run around with my foster brother and sister, playing tug-a-war. I also love to sleep in my crate, but a bed does me well too! I love walking on the leash, and I enjoy other dogs as long as I get to know them slowly. Sometimes I get a little shy, but I come around after a couple minutes. I am a smaller basset, only 20lbs! Kango Rue is a very loveable tri-colored 10 year old Basset Hound. There is nothing better in the world than to go on walks, but no marathons please. Meet Winston! He is a 10 year old neutered male. Hes had his teeth cleaned and is current on all his shots. Winston had a hard life before he came to us. It took him awhile before he learned to trust people again. But now he cant get enough love and is a complete cuddle bug! He loves affection and a good belly rub. Calli is a very sweet 2 year old lemon and white basset. Calli is a petite basset weighing in at only 28 pounds, she needs to gain about 7 more pounds but even then she will be small. She has had at least one litter of puppies about 4 months ago. She is now spayed an up to date on shots. Calli uses a doggie door and is mostly housebroken, she needs an occasional reminder to go out. Calli is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night but would gladly sleep on the couch. She walks well on a leash and loves to snuggle with you. She takes a bit to warm up to new people but once she does she gets along well with everyone including dogs and cats. Calli would probably do best in a home with children over 5. Calli would love to stay with her mate Sammy as they have been together their whole lives but she has done fine with our dog so it isnt absolutely necessary.

He is house-broken, likes to snooze in the sun and play occasionally. #2623 - Buddy is also neutered, house-broken, tri-colored, 9 years old and loves attention! He is great with kids of all ages. They enjoy each other's company and we would love to place them in a home together. However, we would consider splitting them up if the homes had other dogs for them to bond with. They are loveable and very easy to have around.
