High Country Basset Rescue Adoption Application

Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our long eared friends. Please complete the information on this form and click on Submit when you are ready to send.

Basset Hounds must be contained within a fenced area attached to the residence protecting the basset from escaping and from other predatory animals entering. (NOTE) Exceptions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis i.e. Invisible fencing.

Basset hounds must be kept indoors during colder weather and during the night time hours. During Daytime hours, if the Basset is kept outside, adequate shelter must be provided from the natural elements, i.e. a properly sized doghouse or igloo with appropriate padding to protect from the cold ground.

Bassets will be provided a good to high quality of dog food daily and fresh drinking water at all time.

Basset will receive annual veterinary care and vaccinations.

Prospective homes must sign a 30-day temporary agreement form and have a home visit before any dog placement will take place.

A home visit must be completed by a rescue agent to verify that the requirements on the trial period agreement form are met and approved by rescue. (NOTE) In the event a home visit can not be completed by a rescue agent, pictures showing the address, perimeter fencing, eating areas, and sleeping areas, and a signed 30-day agreement form completed by the prospective adopter can be submitted upon request in place of a rescue agent home visit. Remit to Basset Rescue, 7953 So Garrison Way, Littleton, CO. 80128

The adoption fee is non-refundable after the first thirty (30) days the dog is in placement. In the event that you want to return the dog, Rescue Service will refund the adoption fee or apply the fee towards a different dog if we are informed of your intent within thirty (30) days of the date of placement.

Basset Rescue will consider this signed adoption contract legally binding and the dog becomes the property of the potential adopter 30 days from the date of this contract.
